I'm making a bronze piece to compete with this. I think I'll go classic bronze dagger. I must say though, excellent work. Very nice. Where did you learn how to do that? Forged or cast?

Beautiful collections and creations. Are they functionally sharp (like for real sharp) or are they just unsharpened edges?

D2 originally designed for aircraft landing gear as a shock absorbent tool steel it makes great swords. at 1.5% carbon it holds a great edge and with 12% chromium it has some stain resistance but not enough to be considered a stainless steel.

yes they are real. I only use high grade steels. This one is D2 an aircraft landing gear shock absorbent tool steel. Small blade I heat treat my self but swords are sent out to an industrial heat treater so they are done perfect.

D2 steel (originally designed for a shock absorbent aircraft landing gear tool steel) it is a 1.5 carbon steel and an air hardening steel. I send swords out to be heat treated so they are done perfect.

Stock removal? And do you hammer in the bevels or grind them in? Very beautiful!!

mostly stock removal for this one D2 does not forge well. Air hardening steels can get hard spots while forging and either shatter or screw up the heat treat. Other steels I do more forging on.

D2 steel with a rockwell of 57, I make them reel. Small blades I heat treat myself but swords I send out to a professional heat treater. They guarantee whatever rockwell I ask for within 1 point.
